FAQ About Ordering Print Books and eBooks
PRINT BOOKS
Why are there separate buttons for “Buy in the USA” and “Buy Internationally” when ordering books?
Stillness Press is currently distributing its books in two modes: one uses books housed at its US warehouse distributor, Baker & Taylor; and the other one uses a print-on-demand (POD) service through Bookshop.org. For international buyers, POD is the recommended approach as it allows books to be available to a global audience with marked savings on shipping costs, because the books can be printed in multiple places around the globe. For those inside the US, the books can be obtained more quickly from Baker & Taylor with comparable shipping costs. Buyers are free to purchase their books from either source as suits them best.
Are all the Stillness Press titles available at both Baker & Taylor and Bookshop.org; and are they available in all formats from each site?
No. Currently, for a variety of reasons, only three of the five Stillness Press titles are available at Bookshop.org (a fourth, Interface, will soon be added). All titles are available at Baker & Taylor. Also, not every book is available in both hardcover and paperback at each of the sites. Buyers are free to purchase their books from either source as suits them best. (Note: Three of the titles are also available as eBooks now.)
When I click on a button to order a book, does that take me to a third-party site?
Yes. Depending on the button, you will be taken to either Baker & Taylor (btpubservices.com) for books from their US distribution center; or you will be linked to Bookshop.org for print-on-demand orders. (Note: If you purchase a book through the Stillness Press site on Bookshop.org’s webpage, Stillness Press will receive a small commission.)
What if a book arrives damaged?
A damaged book should be returned to the third-party that the book was purchased and received from.
Can I purchase Stillness Press books from other retailers?
Yes. Most of the Stillness Press books are available from the Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation, Osteopathy’s Promise to Children, The Osteopathic Cranial Academy, and Pacific Distributing—Books and Bones. The books are also available through your favorite online bookstore.
Information for Retailers and Wholesale Buyers:
Retailers and wholesale buyers may purchase through “Ingram iPage – Ingram Content Group.”
Are Stillness Press books available in other languages?
Yes. Many of the Stillness Press titles are available in French, German, and Italian. These include Life in Motion, The Stillness of Life, and Interface, and they are available from booksellers in those countries. Translations of Three Great Teachers are anticipated, and translation for Life in Motion into Brazilian Portuguese is underway.
E-BOOKS
When I click on a button to order an eBook, does that take me to a third-party site?
Yes. When you click on a button to purchase an eBook, you will be linked to a website where you can then choose which bookseller you wish to purchase the book from. Options include Smashwords, Apple, Barnes and Noble, Kobos, and some other regional sellers. (Note: Smashwords is the most generous to authors.)
Why can’t I order an ebook through Amazon?
Amazon’s eBook payment structure is geared toward the mass market. Specialized books, with a higher price, are paid at a drastically reduced royalty to the publisher. Therefore, Stillness Press has chosen not to distribute through them.
